Tom Kent Stays Put With USRN

United Stations Radio Networks and the Tom Kent Radio Network have signed a new multi-year sales and programming agreement. Without getting specific, the two sides sent out a joint release that said, "Through the end of this decade, and well beyond, USRN will be the exclusive sales representative for TKRN." USRN has represented Kent for the past five years.

Big Win For Chairman Wheeler

Pai Not Happy

FCC Commissioner Ajit Pai said he was "deeply disappointed" by the D.C. Circuit’s 2-1 decision upholding the FCC’s Internet regulations. "I continue to believe that these regulations are unlawful, and I hope that the parties challenging them will continue the legal fight. Pai says the regulations are unnecessary and counterproductive."

WGN To Continue Carrying ABC Radio

ABC News Radio and WGN in Chicago have extended their affiliation agreement through May 2018. WGN VP of Programming & Content Todd Manley said, “ABC News Radio has created the gold standard in live integration when it comes to covering evolving stories throughout the nation and around the world. Without fail they take our listeners to the scene and provide reporters who detail events real-time with WGN personalities.”

Beasley Media Group has hired Lance Hale as PD for WRXK/96K-ROCK in Fort Myers. He replaces Jeff Zito who moved to Tampa to program Beasley’s WBRN/98.7 NO RULES ROCK. Hale did a stint as Music Director/Assistant PD for Beasley's WJBX in Ft. Myers, so he's returning to the company.
