Field To Be Honored At Radio Show
Entercom CEO David Field will receive the National Radio Award during the Radio Luncheon at this year’s Radio Show in Austin. NAB Executive VP of Radio John David said, “David’s passion for radio and business savvy have led Entercom to new heights. We look forward to recognizing him for his continuous dedication and significant contributions to the business.” In February, Entercom announced a merger with CBS Radio that will make it the second-largest radio broadcaster.

678 Stations May Be Affected By TV Repack
That's according to a new independent study commissioned by the NAB. The study, which you can read HERE, details every radio station that might be affected and exactly which television station might affect them. The stations may need to reduce power, shut down, or operate from an auxiliary facility for work being done on a neighboring TV station antenna to ensure tower worker safety from radio frequency exposure. The NAB has sent the document to the FCC.

Meruelo Takes Over Power. Maki In Charge
Meruelo Media has begun operating KPWR-FM in Los Angeles. Merulo is purchasing the Hip Hop station from Emmis for $82.8 million. The format will stay the same and Val Maki will continue to manage the station. In fact, Maki will be the market manager for three stations now: KPWR, Muruelo Media's KDAY-FM in Los Angeles, and the newly launched Riverside station 93.5 The Wild.
