Hogan Suit Against Cox Can Proceed

According to ABC News in Tampa, former pro wrestler Hulk Hogan is suing 102.5 The Bone Morning Man Mike Calta (pictured), his former co-worker Matt Loyd, and Cox. The suit involves the 2007 sex tape recorded by Bubba the Love Sponge Clem that was posted to Gawker Media.

A Pinellas County judge has ruled that a defamation lawsuit filed by Hogan can move forward. ABC says Hogan alleges Calta and Loyd were involved in “stealing, disseminating, using, and exploiting illegally recorded video.” Calta and Loyd asked the judge to dismiss the case but were denied. Calta and Loyd have been ordered to respond within 20 days.

Hogan sued Gawker and was awarded over $100 million dollars, which he will probably never collect. Gawker filed for bankruptcy and was sold shortly after the verdict was announced. Hogan is seeking unspecified damages claiming the tape ruined his 35-year professional wrestling career.
