Thanks to our friend Elroy Smith for sharing this news about KBLX-FM in San Francisco. The KBLX PD tells Radio Ink the station has been recognized for their contributions to black music and artists by being the first radio station inducted into the Bay Area Black Music Hall of Fame.

American Public Media is receiving a $1.5 million grant from the Corporation for Public Broadcasting to lead a new investigative journalism initiative with Southern California Public Radio (KPCC), Kansas City Public Media (KCUR), New York Public Radio (WNYC), and Public Broadcasting Atlanta (WABE).

Community Broadcasters radio stations Border 106.7 and 94 Rock WOTT raised over $103,000 dollars during the Children’s Miracle Network Radiothon over a 36-hour period, beginning November 1. All proceeds go to supporting services for infants and children at pediatric and neonatal intensive care units.

Eye on Veterans, a new radio program which aims to provide military veterans and their families with useful information about finance, healthcare, and transitioning back into civilian life, will begin airing on the CBS News Radio Network this Saturday, November 11 – Veterans Day.

Danielle Outlaw is the new VP/Market Manager for Neuhoff Media's three-station Bloomington, Illinois cluster. Outlaw transitions from her current role as VP of Sales overseeing five Neuhoff markets. She'll continue to serve as Corporate VP for Special Projects. Outlaw replaces Grant Thompson who joined iHeart in August.

The streaming company has announced a live concert, "Up Close," featuring the country star on December 6 at the Altman Building in New York City. Bryan will be celebrating the release of his sixth studio album, What Makes You Country, due out on December 8.

Bonneville has hired Steve DiNardo as D.O.S. for its new San Francisco cluster. DiNardo will oversee sales for KOIT-FM, KMVQ-FM, KBLX-FM, and KUFX-FM. DiNardo was Market Manager for Entercom in San Francisco until October when Susan Larkin took over. Bonneville will LMA the stations as part of Entercom's divestiture plan to help close its merger with CBS.
