In an interview with the Atlanta Journal Constitution, Tom Joyner says he doesn't really want to leave radio but “I couldn’t get a guaranteed contract after two years.” Joyner is retiring at the end of 2019. Joyner has been in syndication for nearly 25 years, he's still on 95 stations and reaches 7.4 million listeners every week.

So far, about 275 companies nationwide have publicly announced they would be giving bonuses to employees this year, thanks to a tax cut politicians in Washington recently passed. PodcastOne is jumping on the bonus bandwagon. PodcastOne Founder Norman Pattiz announced Tuesday that all full-time employees will be getting a $1,000 cash bonus.

Talk host Jim Bohannon has celebrated the 25th anniversary of his weeknight The Jim Bohannon Show, after taking over what had been The Larry King Show on January 29, 1993. Los Angeles News Talk radio station 790 KABC swept the 68th Annual RTNA Golden Mike Awards on Saturday, January 27, capturing top honors in all five categories in which the station was nominated. The station has won nine Golden Mike Awards in the past two years and sportscaster Randy Wang brought home his second consecutive win this year.
