The inaugural Hope for the Hills Radiothon for LifeScape raised $38,217 to help children with disabilities. Haugo Broadcasting stations KICK 104, Hits 102.7, 95.1 KSKY, and ESPN Rapid City 1340 AM/105.7 FM broadcast the radiothon from LifeScape in Rapid City for two days, Dec. 7-8, 2017.

Roy Spencer (pictured) started his company, Perma-Seal Basement Systems, four decades ago from the back of his pick-up truck. He had that one vehicle, no employees, and only needed to support and feed himself. In 2018, Perma-Seal has three offices and 170 employees in the Chicagoland area. Emmis Selling St. Louis Stations

Emmis announced on Tuesday that it is selling its St. Louis stations KSHE (94.7 FM) and The Point (KPNT, 105.7 FM) to Hubbard, and KFTK (FM News Talk 97.1 FM) and NOW (KNOU, 96.3 FM) to Entercom. Hubbard owns 3 FM's in St Louis and Entercom owns three stations in the market, 2 FM's and 1 AM.  Terms of the deals were not disclosed.

Cindy Spicer, one of Radio Ink's 2018 Top Country PD's, is now the Program Director at iHeartMedia’s US103.5 in Tampa Bay. Spicer moves downstate from iHeart's WQIK-FM in Jacksonville were she was PD and host. Spicer has also worked at KUSS in San Diego.

Forsythe Calls It A Day After 50 Years

John Forsythe will retire from The John & Leslye Morning Show on March 30. The show airs weekday mornings on Magic 107.7, “More Variety from the 80s to Now.” Forsythe joined Leslye Gale on the show in 2010.

Michaels Files To Take Stations Back – Or Sell Them

In a filing with the bankruptcy court Monday, Randy Michaels' Merlin Media stated it was in the process of working with Cumulus to resolve all business and legal issues between Merlin and Cumulus, including the possibility of Michaels taking WLUP-FM and WIQI-FM back or selling them to someone else.
