Even when radio executives get a chance to tell their story...their biggest selling point is...well, 'we haven't done a good job telling our story.' It's a strategy they've been using for about a decade now and it makes you wonder what the shelf life is on that strategy.

Carl Kasell, who was heard on National Public Radio programs for more than thirty years, died Tuesday from complications from Alzheimer’s disease. He was 84. Kasell joined NPR in 1975 as a part-time newscaster for “Weekend All Things Considered.” He was promoted to full-time newscaster on “Morning Edition” in 1979 where he worked until 2009.

The TJ Show, hosted by TJ Taormina, Loren Raye, and producer Matt Shearer, will remain on Boston’s 103.3 AMP Radio (WODS-FM) after both sides signed a multi-year contract extension. The show airs weekday mornings from 5:30 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. ET.

YEA Networks has named on-air personality J-Si Chavez as host of its nationally syndicated celebrity news show The Hollywood 5. The two-hour weekend show airs on over 60 stations across the U.S.

And this came as a total surprise at Tuesday's FCC meeting. Mignon Clyburn served for nearly nine years, including a brief stint as acting chair. She seemed to be frustrated with the direction Chairman Pai was taking the FCC. Here's what the FCC Chairman tweeted following the resignation.

Their children were killed in the Sandy Hook Elementary School shooting back in 2012 and they say Alex Jones claims the shooting was “completely fake” and a “giant hoax” perpetrated by opponents of the Second Amendment. On Tuesday, the parents filed a defamation lawsuit against Jones who operates the conspiracy website Infowars.

The Alliance for Women in Media Foundation has announced the winners of the 43rd annual Gracie Awards, which will take place Tuesday, May 22 in Beverly Hills. The Gracie Awards Luncheon will be Tuesday, June 27 at Cipriani in New York with local and student winners being acknowledged.
