With a total share of listening at 13.2%, the Country format was the most listened to format in 2017, according to Nielsen. Commercial and non-commercial News/Talk combined was next at 12.3%, followed by commercial only News/Talk at 8.3%, Adult Contemporary at 8.1% and CHR at 7.1%. According to WABC-TV, seven people have been charged in the 2012 murder of former radio host April Kauffman. Authorities say the murder was arranged by her late husband, Dr. James Kauffman, to prevent her from exposing a drug ring he was running with the Pagans Motorcycle Gang.
