Radio executives got a little help "telling their story" on Wednesday. America's most listened-to talk show host opened his show with a 30-minute rant about how strong radio is today, nearly 100 years after the medium was hatched.
SiriusXM Video To Debut This Summer
And that will come in the form of an app, and to launch that app SiriusXM will lean on Howard Stern. Sirius' Scott Greenstein says the company is going to launch with a
sampling of Stern's diversity, whether it's music performance, interview, skits, whatever, just to have a tease out there.
Another Big Quarter For SiriusXM
First-quarter revenue for the satellite entertainment provider was $1.4 billion, an increase of 6% over the first quarter of 2017. Advertising revenue was $42 million in the quarter compared to $36 million a year earlier. After a hefty increase from the CRB to start the year, SiriusXM paid $180 million in royalty fees in the quarter.
House Passes Music Modernization Act
The vote was 415 to 0. The Act combines previously introduced legislation and reforms music licensing laws. The goal is to reward creativity and encourage innovation in the digital age. A Nielsen No-No In New York
Nielsen says the integrity of its data is one of its top priorities, and during an internal data review the company discovered that a media-affiliated household had participated in the PPM panel starting Week 2 of the March 2018 report month in the New York and Nassau-Suffolk metros. It appears someone from WNEW-FM is the culprit.
