Up North Radio’s Classic Hits station WBZX/Big Rapids, MI (B103.9) is about to welcome Brian Holmes for afternoons. Holmes is best known for his 10-year run as APD/night guy at WSNX in nearby Grand Rapids.

“Skylark” Rossetti Passes
The Hawaii Tribune Herald is reporting that Hawaiian broadcasting legend Jacqueline Leilani “Skylark” Rossetti died Wednesday. She was 65.
Duke Gets Another
Midwest Communications is purchasing WNFZ-FM in Knoxville for $2 million. That brings the Midwest cluster to four in Knoxville, and Midwwest is already LMAing the station. John Pirkle is the seller and Michael Bergner brokered the deal.
NAB Show Grows And Grows And Grows
Over 100,000 people will be greeted by 224 companies exhibiting for the first time at the 2019 NAB Show in Las Vegas April 6-11. The more than 1,600 companies will include over 650 international exhibitors and some of the world's leading brands.
New Board Member At Salem
Salem has appointed Heather Grizzle to its Board of Directors. Grizzle succeeds Roland Hinz who retired from his position in December.
Entercom Steps Up The Hip-Hop
The company announced that 96.3 The Block (WFBC-HD2) will also air on 107.7 FM. The additional frequency helps get the popular Hip-Hop and R&B format into Anderson County, South Carolina. The previous format on 107.7 was Southern Gospel.

WGUC’s Frank Johnson Loses Battle With Cancer
The Cincinnati Classical music host was 65. Johnson started his career in 1975 at Dayton's WTUE-FM, joined WGUC-FM in 1998 on the All Things Considered news shift. He hosted afternoons and evenings, most recently 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Johnson has been off the air since December.
