Entercom Files Preliminary Proxy Statement

Another massive document has been filed with the SEC on the road to getting the merger deal closed between Entercom and CBS. This one outlines a special shareholder meeting to approve the deal, however there is no date set for the meeting. There is some interesting information in the document (around page 110) that details the back-and-forth negotiations between Entercom and CBS that date all the way back June of 2016.

Reach Extends Deal With Smiley

Eric Davis Expands Role At ESPNLA

Former NFL cornerback Eric Davis is expanding his role on ESPNLA 710AM to include a position with Marcellus Wiley and Kelvin Washington starting Thursday, Oct. 12. The newly renamed Afternoons with Marcellus, Kelvin and Eric will air weekdays from 3-7 p.m. PT.

Nikki Sixx Ending Syndicated Show

Rocker Nikki Sixx announced on Thursday that he plans to end his three syndicated programs with Premiere at the end of this year. Sixx' flagship program Sixx Sense launched in 2010 and had 130 affiliates. His final broadcast will be December 31.

It's a much smaller company now that Power 106 in Los Angeles is no longer part of the Emmis stable. The company reported revenue of $41.8 million for June, July, and August. On a same-station basis that's an increase of 2% over 2016.
