Bob Pittman Named Radio Executive of The Year
Since 1993, in our January issue, Radio Ink has been recognizing a radio executive for all of his or her success from the prior year. 2019 was an incredible year for iHeartMedia and CEO Bob Pittman will appear on the cover of our January 6th issue as the 2019 Radio Executive of The Year.
7,000 Stuffed Animals
WKXW-FM/New Jersey (New Jersey 101.5), has concluded its 2019 Feel Better Bears campaign to collect teddy bears for children in emergency situations. The New Jersey State Policeman’s Benevolent Association will receive over 7,000 stuffed animals to be distributed to local law enforcement.
Rockwell Gets VP Sales Stripes
Paige Rockwell has been named VP of Sales for iHeart Binghamton. Rockwell joins the Binghamton market from Townsquare Media in Utica, New York, where she was the director of digital strategy/digital sales manager for the past seven years.
KQV Is Back
Legendary Pittsburgh station, KQV, 1410 AM, is back on the air. The station returned after a nearly two-year hiatus earlier this week with a beautiful music/easy listening format.
WALK Long Island Gets New Morning Show
Long Island’s heritage AC station, WALK 97.5, has added The Anna and Raven Show to mornings. The duo have had the number-one rated show in Bridgeport, CT, on Connoisseur Media sister station WEZN (Star 99.9), for the last four years.
Big Al Signs Extension
iHeartMedia Denver’s KOA 850 AM & 94.1 FM has signed a five-year extension with on-air personality Alfred Williams, known as “Big Al.”

FCC Steps Back On Loosening Ownership Regs
This ruling is a result the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit which vacated and remanded the Commission's decision to revise several ownership rules.
