The Country Radio Broadcasters have added to the 2022 Country Radio Hall of Fame. Honored were three off-air radio broadcasters and four on-air radio personalities.

Lon Helton's Country Countdown USA has been eliminated from the programming roster in a round of firings at Westwood One. Our friends over at All Access were first to report that Helton's show will end distribution with the Cumulus owned network at the end of July.

iHeartMedia Charlotte’s WHQC-FM has signed a multi-year partnership with Atrium Health Levine Children’s Hospital. Morning show hosts Miguel and Holly will lead the partnership by hosting an annual Radiothon, set for its inaugural event in December.

Apparently 36 years is enough radio for some hosts. KQRS Minneapolis morning man, Radio Hall of Famer Tom Barnard is retiring. His final broadcast will be December 23rd. The Minneapolis native has been with the station since 1986. He dominated morning ratings in that city for a very long time.

KILT-FM Houston morning show “The Morning Bullpen,” collected 32,793 thank you cards as part of their annual “10k for the Troops” project. Since June 6, George, Mo and Fink have been asking listeners to purchase a thank you card, write a note in it and mail it to the station to deliver to the troops.

After 10 years with Westwood One, veteran programmer Jack Silver is exiting the company. During his tenure, Silver served as PD for NBC Sports Radio and was Operations Manager for WWO's Culver City Studios.

Jordan Wertlieb, President of Hearst Television is this year's TV Chair for Radio Ink and Radio + Television Business Report Forecast 2023. He joins Honorary Chair Bob Pittman, Chairman/CEO, iHeartMedia, and Radio Chair Greg Ashlock, CEO/Multiplatform Group, iHeartMedia.

"Hooks, First Lines and Scene Setters” by Earl Pilkington is a Free 319-page e-book. The book offers 25 different business categories, there are at least 101 hooks, first lines and scene setters in each category.

Learfield, a company that will produce and distribute 13 weekly Saturday College Football Games, has set the College Football Saturday Night broadcast team. Mike Golic Jr. will be the analyst and Sloane Martin will handle play-by-play during the 2022 season.

AM/FM radio is still used by most Canadians as an audio source in-car, according to The Infinite Dial 2022® Canada. The Edison Research and Triton Digital® research however shows radio has ceded some ground to digital dashboard audio sources.
