Whether or not you can play music during your podcast is always an interesting topic. It involves many organizations and rules that help make it one of the most complex and confusing issues in the podcasting space today.

Entercom's Boston cluster of stations raised enough money to provide 156,684 meals to be distributed by the Greater Boston Food Bank. The May 5 fundraiser was part of the company’s Stay Connected initiative to support local communities.

Spanish Broadcasting System in South Florida along with the South Florida Hispanic Chamber of Commerce worked together to deliver 100 hot meals and sweets to healthcare workers at Jackson Memorial Hospital.

No reason was given for the split and the change was made without any announced transition. Cox simply announced Wednesday that Guthrie, who's been with CMG for 22 years, was leaving as CEO. The Bonneville Bay Area family of radio stations kicks off the Bay Area Food Bank Radiothon today soliciting volunteers and cash donations. The money raised by Bonneville's four San Francisco stations will benefit six Bay Area Food Banks. 

And the topic is ZoneCasting, a technology that allows stations to broadcast original programming on FM booster stations so they can hyper-target communities in their listening area. iHeart, Entercom, Cumulus and Beasley have filed joint comments in opposition.

Border Media and A&J Radio have merged and formed a new company called Loud Media, based out of Saratoga Springs, New York. The company also announced the purchase WNYV-FM in Whitehall, New York and WVNR-FM in Poultney, VT from Pine Tree Broadcasting.
