Three More Pirates Caught Red-Handed

Christian Torres was operating illegally at 100.9-FM in Bridgeport, Connecticut, from a business; William Cotter, at 104.7-FM, also in Bridgeport, from a residence; and Nnanna Okoro was cited for a pirate station at 87.9-FM Irvington, New Jersey, from a house he owns. All three were given 10 days to shut down and explain to the FCC why they were operating radio stations illegally.

According to Nielsen's latest quarterly Audio Today Report, McDonalds was radio's biggest advertiser on music stations, spending $46.1 million. On spoken word stations, Zip-Recruiter spent $11.1 million leading the way.

With a total share of listening at 13.2%, the Country format was the most listened to format in 2017, according to Nielsen. Commercial and non-commercial News/Talk combined was next at 12.3%, followed by commercial only News/Talk at 8.3%, Adult Contemporary at 8.1% and CHR at 7.1%. 7 Charged In April Kaufman Murder

According to WABC-TV, seven people have been charged in the 2012 murder of former radio host April Kauffman. Authorities say the murder was arranged by her late husband, Dr. James Kauffman, to prevent her from exposing a drug ring he was running with the Pagans Motorcycle Gang.
