Senior Living Community Starts Podcast To Tell Residents’ Stories

Providence Point, a senior living community based in Scott Township, Pennsylvania, is launching a unique resident-hosted podcast called The Voices at the Point. Kicking off on August 1, the podcast aims to bring to life the tales and experiences of its residents.

In the making for years, the podcast was conceived by YaJagoff! Media co-founders, John Chamberlin and Rachael Rennebeck, who also helm their own podcast. The duo wanted to create a platform focused on sharing the remarkable narratives of the senior living community’s residents, deviating from the standard themes of logistics or promotional content often found in similar podcasts.

The podcast will feature a range of life stories from residents, providing a captivating glimpse into their experiences and insightful conversations. Each episode is expected to run for about 20 minutes and will be available on all podcast platforms and the Providence Point website.

In some of the upcoming episodes, listeners can look forward to hearing about the inseparable lives of sisters Marsha and Barbara Harenski, who’ve lived together in Pittsburgh since Marsha’s college graduation.

While the podcast is being launched with a focus on the residents of Providence Point, Rennebeck has indicated that they may extend the storytelling to include residents from other retirement communities in the future.

YaJagoff! Media Co-Founder Rachael Rennebeck said, “Most retirement community podcasts are basically about the facility, like why to live there or what happens with aging. Nothing was out there to tell the stories of these people with phenomenal stories. From the CEO of Heinz to someone who wrapped their RV and had it shipped to Russia to tour Russia, these stories are just so cool.”
