Podcast network and brand incubator Dear Media announced the launch of its first true-crime podcast, Believable: The Coco Berthmann Story. Berthmann gained internet fame by sharing her supposed survival story of sex trafficking as a young child in Germany, but later faced arrest after raising funds based on a fake cancer diagnosis.

The 10-episode series, set to premiere on July 13th, will delve into the truth behind Coco’s fabricated life, examining her rise to notoriety and the upcoming trial. Believable was conceived by executive producers Michael and Lauryn Bosstick, who were captivated by Coco Berthmann’s story when she appeared on their podcast, The Skinny Confidential.

The podcast will be hosted by Pulitzer Prize-winning journalist Sara Ganim and produced by Edward R. Murrow Award-winning reporter Karen Given.
