The Interactive Advertising Bureau, which helps set standards for podcast and digital media measurement, has appointed John Halley as the new Chair of its Board of Directors. Halley, who joined the board in March 2021 and served as Vice Chair, succeeds Alysia Borsa.

Borsa, Dotdash Meredith’s Chief Business Officer, will continue her involvement with the IAB Board and its Executive Committee. Shenan Reed, Global Chief Media Officer at General Motors, is stepping into the role of Vice Chair.

Halley is President of Paramount Advertising at Paramount.

The IAB Board of Directors has also welcomed new members for a three-year term, including Kristi Argyilan from Albertsons Media Collective, Michael Scott from Samsung Ads, and Jason Spero from Google.

Re-elected members for a new term are Alysia Borsa, Patrick Harris from Snap, Lisa Howard from Hearst Magazines, Norm Johnston from NewsCorp, Joy Robins from The New York Times, Kya Sainsbury-Carter from Microsoft Advertising, and Aaron Sobol from Unilever.

IAB CEO David Cohen said, “The strength of IAB — and the strength of our industry — depends on our ability to attract the very best talent to our Board. John and Shenan bring a wealth of experience, a readiness to confront the industry’s toughest challenges, and a thirst for innovation that is inspirational. This year will be meaningful as we are grappling with trends defining the digital ecosystem, from the seismic shift in privacy and addressability, AI, unified identity and the retirement of third-party cookies. I’m so pleased to welcome them aboard.”

Halley commented, “I am eager to work alongside Alysia, David, Shenan, and the rest of the board to ensure we are helping all stakeholders improve and evolve the digital ecosystem during such a critical time. IAB is doing important work, and I look forward to contributing additional perspective as we map our path to the future.”
