And as we know, that’s where a lot of radio’s younger demo is going for music. In a letter to YouTubers, CEO Susan Wojcicki said that in 2018 the number of creators that earned five or six figures has grown by more than 40%. Also, channels with over one million subscribers nearly doubled.
Wojcicki said, “You’re creating the next generation of media companies and we’re thrilled to see how much the YouTube creator economy is thriving.” She also outlined three priorities for 2019: 1) Supporting creator and artist success; 2) Improving communication and engagement; and 3) Living up to our responsibility.
