RTDNA Introduces “Ed Talks” Video Series

The Radio Television Digital News Association (RTDNA) announced Wednesday the launch of a new series of best-practice videos for newsrooms called Ed Talks. Named for Edward R. Murrow and presented by Murrow Award winners and other expert contributors, the videos will provide practical tips that electronic journalists can put into practice every day.

Each video will be brief and tightly focused on a single, actionable skill or technique that journalists can put to immediate use. The inaugural installment features multiple-Murrow Award winner Boyd Huppert and photojournalist Kevin Sullivan of KARE 11 in Minneapolis.

Project leader Scott Libin, RTDNA’s Region 4 Director, said, “When RTDNA recently surveyed journalists to find out about their needs and interests, one of the most common concerns that surfaced was training. Journalists want more of it, but they can’t always travel to get it, and they need it in practical forms that are easy to fit into their busy schedules.”
