As part of the FCC’s new approach to transparency it has launched a new Consumer Complaint Data Center. The online listing of consumer complaints includes how many calls are made to the government agency about radio. The biggest complaint ( 7,391 of them) is about interference. That’s followed by indecency (1,624), Pirate Radio (783), Availability (617), Equipment (466) and commercials and promotions (291). FCC Chairman Tom Wheeler said, in a statement, “Greater transparency of our consumer complaint data further empowers consumers and provides the public – as well as communications providers – with greater insight into consumers’ concerns.”
