The Mentoring and Inspiring Women in Radio Group has named Mercedes Martinez — host of Mercedes in the Morning on KMXB Mix 94.1, Las Vegas — as the recipient of the 2018 MIW Airblazer Award. Martinez has worked in the Las Vegas market, and as a morning host on Mix 94.1, since 1997.

In addition, the station announced that sister station KYGO-FM’s midday personality and market vet Melissa Moore would move over to the afternoon position on KOSI 101.1 on Tuesday, September 4.

WTAM’s Lanigan Quits Mid Show

Longtime Cleveland radio host John Lanigan quit right in the middle of his WTAM show on Wednesday. Lanigan said he just didn't feel right doing radio anymore, thanked a few people, and went on his merry way. News 5 in Cleveland reported that WTAM PD Ray Davis was caught completely off guard and had to come in and finish the show.
