ABC Audio Promotes Franzen

Michelle Franzen is moving up to midday news anchor on ABC Audio. Franzen joins Cheri Preston, Daria Albinger and Rich Cantu in the ABC News Radio weekday anchor lineup.

“Michelle is a trusted journalist with top-notch storytelling skills. Just yesterday she, along with a stellar producing team, won a Gracie Award for their heartwarming story on NICU cuddlers, volunteers who spend time swaddling and hugging newborns when parents or nurses aren’t around,” said Scott Goldberg, ABC Audio Director of News Programming.

Franzen started her ABC News career in 2014, reporting across all platforms. She joined ABC Audio in 2015 as a correspondent. Her story coverage included the 2016 presidential election and the El Paso mass shooting.

  1. Michelle announces the news in KCMO at the top and bottom of the hour on 980 am KMBZ. Unfortunately her news comes on during the Rush Limbaugh show. One frequently encounters contradictions between her information and that presented by Rush and other conservative talkers. For example she has said president elect Joe Biden. This will not be correct unless the electoral college meets and casts the vote for Biden. There is a chance this will not happen. ABC gave us years of stories on the Muller report. Almost all of the “facts” in those stories have been proven wrong. Based on history I must question everything ABC gives Michelle to read.

  2. I have always considered that Michelle Franzen does an extraordinary job as a journalist.
I hope that he continues adding successes to his career and that every day is better.
