The creation of one of radio's most brilliant minds, turns 50 this year. Dick Orkin was born in Williamsport, PA, in 1933, and by age 16, he was ready to tackle radio.
Judge Rules Against Cumulus in Non-Compete Case
This goes back to a story we reported on March 25. Cumulus filed a lawsuit against Amanda Rollen and Hoosier AM/FM, which operates five radio stations in Marion and four in Kokomo.

D.O.J. Smacks ASCAP With $1.75 Million Fine
On Thursday, the Department of Justice announced ASCAP agreed to pay $1.75 million and reform some of its policies to settle allegations ASCAP violated a court-ordered consent decree designed to prevent anticompetitive effects arising from its collective licensing of music performance rights.
ASCAP CEO: This Was The Right Thing To Do

They have to find and teach and massage new local talent. And they surely must help produce a product the sales department can successfully sell so that fire-breathing GM can be calm, cool, and collected while sending that nice big piece of the cash-flow action back to corporate.
