In part two of our interview with retiring conservative talk show host Charlie Sykes we asked him a host of questions about the radio industry. Having been wildly successful at WTMJ in Milwaukee for over two decades, surely he has some advice for younger broadcasters looking to make a name for themselves. We also asked him which talk show hosts he respected the most, how he got into radio and what the industry needs to do better to build up the farm system. Here's what he had to say.

Twenty-nine-year-old Thomas Hill, who was arrested for drunk driving, drove right into the studio of WNRI-AM in Woonsocket, Rhode Island early Wednesday morning, causing a whole lot of chaos.

In another move to shed assets and pay down debt, Emmis has signed an agreement to sell Texas Monthly to an affiliate of private equity firm Genesis Park, a partnership founded by Paul Hobby, for $25 million. Emmis has owned Texas Monthly since 1998.

Justine Roller has been appointed General Sales Manager for Entercom's Sacramento cluster. Prior to her promotion, Roller was a Senior AE for 11 years. Roller will report to Director of Sales, Stacey Kauffman.

Erik Zachary will host weeknights from 6-11 p.m. on 103.5 KISS FM and Emily Bermann will host weeknights on BIG 95.5, from 7 p.m.-midnight. She also assumes APD duties at BIG 95.5. All appointments will be effective Monday, October 17.

Neuhoff Media Lafayette has brought in Matt Moore to be GSM for WKOA FM, WASK FM, and ESPN 1450AM, effective immediately. For the past five years, Moore has previously been Regional Account Manager for Entercom in Indianapolis.

Michael Czarnecki has been elevated to PD at Entercom's WRKO in Boston. For the last 15 months, Czarnecki has been the APD and Ops Manager of the news talker. Prior to joining WRKO, Czarnecki was APD at iHeart Media’s WHYN-FM and WRNX-FM in Springfield, MA.
