Bridge Ratings was in Las Vegas at the Consumer Electronic Show this past week where the company conducted five focus groups with the intent of gauging a) podcast consumption patterns among current podcast listeners, and b) if new technology would reduce the friction that has limited podcasting as a reach medium.

Scripps-owned WTMJ-AM and KTI-FM in Milwaukee has hired Dan Schenek as Digital Content Director. Schenek joins Scripps from Los Angeles where he was Digital Producer for NBCUniversal’s Access Hollywood. Schenek has also worked with CNN/HLN’s Dr. Drew show and with MTV/New York and CBS Radio/Los Angeles.

Tuesday night at The Ryman in Nashville "The BIG 98" presented Bobby Bones & The Raging Idiots’ Million Dollar Show For St. Jude. Bones' band was joined by country music superstars Craig Campbell, Sam Hunt, Rascal Flatts, Caitlyn Smith, and The Band Perry. The crowd at the Ryman went crazy when Garth Brooks, Brothers Osborne, and Thomas Rhett also took to the stage.

Justin Luvv has joined 93.9 The Beat/WRWM in Indianapolis as afternoon host and Imaging Director. Luvv joins the Cumulus station after more than 11 years with Radio One where he was talent, Imaging Coordinator, and Mix DJ for Power 107.5/WCKX and Boom 106.3/WBMO in Columbus, OH.

Crystal Castorena has been with Impact Radio Group since being recruited for the position of Business Manager in 2012. As of January 12, Castorena will be General Manager of the Group’s Boise cluster. 

News 95.5 and AM750 WSB (WSB-AM/WSBB-FM), and Mark Arum are working together to help Atlanta metro area firefighters who were recently impacted by vehicle break-ins. During his show, Arum asked listeners to help Gwinnett and Forsyth County firefighters who were targeted over the weekend by thieves who struck while they were out on calls.

The Palm Beaches’ Real Radio 94.3 partnered with Tito’s Handmade Vodka for the second annual Touchdowns for Charity fundraiser. The season-long program will benefit Florida Atlantic University’s Center for Autism and Related Disabilities.

The 26th Annual Radio Mercury Awards has begun accepting entries for outstanding creative spots, campaigns, and innovative radio work from advertising agencies, radio stations, production companies, colleges, universities, and advertisers.

The Billy Madison Show team is celebrating its fifth anniversary and they threw a Texas-sized bash in their hometown of San Antonio to celebrate. KISS-FM held a sold-out 5th Anniversary Celebration show at San Antonio’s Aztec Theater. In addition, the station worked closely with their newest affiliate, KCLB-FM, Palm Springs, for a promotion that landed a couple of lucky Cali listeners in San Antonio for the anniversary show.

ABC Radio has a new podcast called No Limits with Rebecca Jarvis. Jarvis is the ABC News Chief Business, Economics and Technology Correspondent. Each week, Jarvis speaks with women in Hollywood, business, technology, fashion, comedy, food, sports, and startups about how they built their empire and their wide-range of accomplishments.
