Chicago radio icon John Records Landecker, who has lived in northwest Indiana for the past 15 years, was honored with the Sagamore of the Wabash award, September 8, ahead of his induction into the National Radio Hall of Fame, according to heraldargus.com.

The Chicago Tribune reports that Eric Ferguson, of the former WTMX morning show The Eric and Kathy Show, says that he's "never been more rejuvenated than I feel right now." Kathy left the show months ago, presumably to negotiate a new contract, but Hubbard fired her last week. Here's more of what Ferguson said...

Steve “Omelette” Normandin and Rick Coates have joined Classic Rock The BEAR 98.1 & 97.7 FM in Traverse City, MI, as the station’s morning show. Omelette & Coates will air Monday through Friday from 5:30 to 10 a.m. The pair made their debut Saturday, September 9 at 9 a.m.

Yesterday, you read an op-ed piece from Neal Portnow who claimed artists are no longer thanking radio for playing their music, now that there are so many other outlets that help make them stars and sell albums. Well, BMI recording artist and songwriter Jack Ingram doesn't quite agree with that.

Hubbard Radio's WTMX (101.9 The Mix) is parting ways with Eric & Kathy co-host Kathy Hart, who abruptly vanished from the successful morning show back in April. On Thursday, Hubbard announced that Hart won't be back. Hubbard Chicago Market Manager Jeff England said, "We wish her all the best as she moves on to the next stage of her career."
