STAR 99.9/Bridgeport, CT, morning hosts Anna and Raven developed the idea of “Trick or Treat Day” and now it will be debated in the Government Administration and Elections Committee on Monday morning at 11a.m. It is known as Senate Bill 253. “Trick or Treat Day” is a way to help teachers and parents tired of having Halloween festivities during the week. It would take place the last Saturday of October every year, and would be designated as the day to collect and give out candy.

“We had a number of calls from parents who had to leave work early and teachers who had to deal with tired kids,” Anna said. “We thought the best solution was to make sure the trick or treating always happens on the weekend.”

Senator Bob Duff worked with the morning show to get the signatures needed to get this introduced in committee. Anna and Raven will attend the hearing and speak on behalf of the bill.
