Radio legend Art Laboe will begin his 75th consecutive year on the radio this Sunday, September 24, on 93.5 KDAY-FM, and in the process break the Guinness World Record for the longest career as a radio presenter/DJ. Laboe’ s professional career began at KSAN/San Francisco on September 23, 1943.
CBS Radio Shuffles Fresh 102.7 New York Lineup
Mike Adam takes over afternoon drive, pushing Cane to the evening slot. Adam joined FRESH 102.7 in July for summer fill-in work. Prior to that he hosted weekends on WBMP-FM (AMP RADIO) in New York and PM drive on the former WZMP in Philadelphia. Matt Sneed moves from the weekday evening shift to middays on the weekends.

Webb is part of the morning team with Jack Harris on iHeart's WFLA in Tampa. They've been together since 1994. The 68-year old tells TBO.com this is tough. "I am giving up one of the loves of my life." Webb has congestive heart failure and diabetes which have both gotten worse in recent months.

Triton Digital says Neuhoff Communications has selected the podcast management solution by Triton Digital and Omny Studio to power its on-demand content. Neuhoff will use Omny Studio’s podcasting platform to capture, edit, and distribute on-demand content. Neuhoff will also be using Triton’s advertising server, Tap Podcast, to monetize content by inserting targeted ads.
CMG Shores Up Management Team
Cox Media Group has named Cathy Gunther Market VP for Tulsa and Dan Lawrie Market VP for Jacksonville. Gunther will oversee CMG's TV and radio properties in Tulsa and Lawrie will lead CMG's TV and radio properties in Jacksonville. CMG has been moving more toward a consolidated leadership structure in markets that include both radio and TV.
Storm Contributes To Death Of Cleveland Radio Legend
iHeart's WTAM in Cleveland posted the news of the passing of Hall of Fame broadcaster and Cleveland radio legend John Webster. Webster's stepson told WTAM that Webster recently had surgery after breaking his hip and was resting at his home in central Florida when Hurricane Irma hit. Without power for over a week, Webster's health deteriorated and he died. He was 74.
