Two Senate Democrats have heard enough about Russia trying to influence U.S. elections by purchasing ads on popular websites such as Facebook and Google. Senators Amy Klobuchar of Minnesota and Mark Warner of Virginia introduced The Honest Ads Act, Thursday afternoon.

Independents and smaller groups may seem to face a different set of challenges, especially when it comes to maintaining a competitive edge and commanding their due share of revenue against the bigger groups. But smaller can be more flexible, nimbler, and easier to maneuver without layers of interference or corporate inertia.

The show is called Go Big or Go Home, and it will be hosted by Tom Maoli. It's Maoli's first stab at broadcasting. Maoli is a successful New York-area business owner and real estate developer.

Listeners to Cumulus' six stations in San Francisco (KFOG, KGO, KNBR, KSAN, KSFO, and KTCT) have pitched in to help raise over $250,000 for the Bay Area Fire Relief Fund. The stations partnered with local businesses to launch a two-week relief drive, where businesses match up to $10,000 per day in cash donations raised by the stations’ listeners.

CBS News Radio is launching The Takeout, a national, weekly, one-hour program about politics, policy, and pop culture hosted by CBS News Chief White House Correspondent Major Garrett and CBS News Political Director Steve Chaggaris. The first episode airs Friday, October 20.

Westwood One News will present a retrospective, Pain & Pride: Remembering Vietnam – 50 Years Later, a look back at 1967, a pivotal year in what may have been the most polarizing event of 20th century America. Nearly half a million American troops were fighting in Vietnam at that time and the anti-war movement at home was heading toward a fervent peak.

ACM Lifting Lives has donated $250,000 to three organizations for those affected by the Las Vegas tragedy. A $200,000 donation will be made to MGM Resorts Foundation “Victim Relief & First Responders’ Fund,” the National Compassion Fund will receive a donation of $25,000, and Friends of Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Foundation will receive $25,000.

CBS Radio’s WPGC 95.5 is proud to announce its 18th annual “For Sisters Only” (FSO) expo, Saturday, November 4, 12:00 Noon to 8:00 p.m. at the Walter E. Washington Convention Center in Washington, DC. FSO is one of the largest expos for women of color in the DC area.

WBAL-AM NewsRadio 1090 and 98 Rock have renewed their media partnership for the Baltimore Running Festival. The stations have been the exclusive radio partners of the festival since its inception 17 years ago.

Assuming the DOJ or FCC aren't waiting in the wings to derail this deal, it looks like mid to late November, CBS Radio will be gone and Entercom will become one of the largest radio companies in the industry, with 235 stations. CBS has announced the commencement of an exchange offer for the separation of the radio division so it could be merged with Entercom.
