It's no secret President Trump is not a fan of a lot of the major news organizations and the way they cover him. Fields has been named the new Afternoon Drive Host at the Beasely station. He will begin his new position on Monday, October 16. Fields most recently served as a meteorologist at KCBS-TV in Los Angeles.

Former NAB Joint Board Chairman, and Commonwealth Broadcasting CEO, Steve Newberry has joined the NAB as Executive Vice President for Strategic Planning/Special Projects. Newberry has been a Washington-based communications consultant since 2015. He served as chairman of NAB’s Joint Board of Directors from 2009 to 2011.

Entercom Charlotte has announced a new multiyear partnership with Frank Garcia, host of The Garcia and Bailey Show on WFNZ, 102.5 FM and 610 AM, weekdays 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Garcia has been broadcasting his midday show on WFNZ since 2007.

On November 3, Pandora will hold their second Sounds Like You: Country concert in Nashville, this time featuring Blake Shelton. It’s also a homecoming for Emmy-winning country-pop phenomenon Maggie Rose, who will open the show.

Another massive document has been filed with the SEC on the road to getting the merger deal closed between Entercom and CBS. This one outlines a special shareholder meeting to approve the deal, however there is no date set for the meeting. There is some interesting information in the document (around page 110) that details the back-and-forth negotiations between Entercom and CBS that date all the way back June of 2016.
