755 Radio Stations Sold In 2017
That's according to a new blog from BIA/Kelsey Chief Economist Mark Fratrik, who says those 755 stations had a total value of over $3.3 billion. The number of radio stations sold increased by 179 and the total value of those stations increased by over $2.8 billion.

Stern To Induct Bon Jovi Into Hall
Howard Stern will have to leave the comfort of his Manhattan home and head to Cleveland, which he joked he was not pleased about, to induct his friend Jon Bon Jovi and his band into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame. Bon Jovi said, “Nobody knows not only me but the members of the band as well as Howard.” The ceremony is set for Saturday, Apr. 14.

McLaughlin To Receive Lifetime Achievement Award
Edward McLaughlin will be honored with the 2018 Lifetime Achievement Award at the Broadcasters Foundation of America’s Golden Mike Award dinner, March 5, in New York City. McLaughlin founded EFM Media Management in 1987 and syndicated The Dr. Dean Edell Show. Shortly thereafter, he launched Rush Limbaugh into syndication.
Alpha Signs Big Deal With Futuri
It's a wide-ranging deal for Futuri with Larry Wilson's company. All Alpha Media stations will have access to Futuri's podcasting system POST, which turns broadcasts into PPM-encoded on-demand audio, complete with fully licensed images, and distributes them on multiple platforms.
