WTOP/Washington, DC, has been honored with nine Regional Edward R. Murrow Awards by the Radio Television Digital News Association. The WTOP news team was recognized in the Overall Excellence category for the seventh time in the past nine years.

WTMJ won five Murrow Awards from the RTDNA.  The awards were given in categories ranging from Breaking News Coverage to Excellence in writing to Excellence in Video.

The Arizona station has been honored with three 2018 Edward R. Murrow Awards, including the coveted Overall Excellence award. In addition, KTAR News also received awards for Breaking News Coverage and Sports Reporting.

Earplay and WBUR, Boston’s NPR news station, have co-produced You and the Beanstalk, an interactive audio story for kids ages 6-12. The new Alexa Skill for Kids will be released May 9.

Legendary rock band Fleetwood Mac have announced a North America tour as well as the launch of an exclusive, limited-run SiriusXM channel, The Fleetwood Mac Channel, on Tuesday, May 1.

iHeartMedia’s Arizona Region has announced new programming roles for Reid Spivey, Rameen Madani and David Adams. Arizona Region President Linda Little said, “This is an example of more homegrown talent developing their careers in the Arizona Region."

That's what New York Public Radio is saying about the results of an outside investigation into inappropriate workplace behavior by several employees. The report did show that some employees were far from perfect, engaging in "bullying and offensive behavior toward colleagues and guests."

Four months after leaving the station, which was preceded by a long farewell tour, Mike Francesa appears to be headed back to work at WFAN in New York City. The New York newspapers are reporting that Francesa will take over the 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. slot reducing the amount of airtime for his replacements, Chris Carlin, Maggie Gray and Bart Scott.
