In Portland, 101.9 KINK has changed its name to 101.9 PINK for the month of October. Throughout the month, 101.9 PINK will be raising money for the American Cancer Society in honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month. Listeners who donate $40 or more will receive a limited edition KINK beanie, as well as opportunities for other incentives.

Alpha Media Portland SVP/Market Manager Lisa Decker said, “KINK is PINK to save lives, raise awareness, and raise money to fight breast cancer in our community.”

101.9 PINK Content Director, Ronnie Stanton stated, “We are so proud of the KINK is PINK campaign. Raising awareness and funds for breast cancer (and all cancer) research and affected families in Portland is a really good mission to get you out of bed during October!”

“For the month of October, I wear pink every day to show those facing a breast cancer diagnosis that they are not alone and I want to honor the millions of women that have bravely fought this disease,” said Mitch Elliott, 101.9 PINK Morning Show host.

“The fight against breast cancer is very personal for me. I lost my mother when she was only 57. I feel blessed to work at KINK and all of the efforts to go Pink. Mitch is my hero, he truly wears pink every day of the month,” added Corey Foley, 101.9 PINK Morning Show host.
