WRUL-FM and WROY-AM/Carmi, IL, as well as W119AU-FM/Fairfield, go from Withers Broadcasting to The Original Company for $390,000 cash at closing. Original, which has 15 other stations in Southwestern Indiana and Southeastern Illinois, is headed up by President Mark Lange. Patrick Communications represented seller Withers Broadcasting in the deal. 

Beasley Does The Holiday Flip in Florida

Wednesday’s the day that Sunny 106.3 WJPT-FM, switched its format to all holiday-themed music. Louie Diaz, currently Program Director of WRQX in Washington, D.C., moves to Operations Manager, Cumulus Media-Atlanta and Program Director of WWWQ in Atlanta, while Rob Roberts, currently Operations Manager, Cumulus Media-Atlanta and Program Director of WWWQ, will move to WRQX/Washington, D.C. as Program Director. He will also fill the new position of Vice President/Hot AC at the corporate programming level.

Hill Signs For Life With WAAF

The Boston station has announced that veteran morning host Greg Hill has signed a new, long-term contract that will keep him at the Entercom station for the rest of his career. Hill started with the Rock station in 1986 and has been hosting the Hill-Man Morning Show for 26 years.

Mike Miller New PD For Z 104.3 Baltimore

Miller will also be the station’s new afternoon drive host. Both positions are effective December 12. Miller will be responsible for day-to-day programming operations for Z 104.3 and will work closely with on-air personalities and sales to oversee the station's on-air content, digital footprint, and music programming.

Syndicated talker Sean Hannity told a packed house at Forecast 2017 Wednesday morning that if the election was about the "forgotten man," radio is dealing with the "forgotten listener," thanks to all the deep cuts it has made over the past several years. His advice: get back to local. And that means more advertising that you are there, more contesting, more research, more promotions, and more creativity. He said, "We have sliced and diced and cut budgets from these radio stations more than we can."
