The Public Safety and Homeland Security Bureau of the FCC has activated the Disaster Information Reporting System as Hurricane Michael bears down on the Florida panhandle. DIRS is a voluntary, web-based system that communications providers can use to report communications infrastructure status and situational awareness information during times of crisis.
