Another Reform From The New FCC Boss
It appears new FCC Chairman Ajit Pai is cranking out a reform a day since he's taken over the corner office. This latest has to do with consent decrees and the Enforcement Bureau bypassing the full Commission before resolving issues. Pai wants the full Commission voting on the consent decrees, and so, it is ordered. Here's his full statement...
Townsquare Gets A Lower Interest Rate
Townsquare will save about $750,000 in interest expenses after the company announced Wednesday it was successful at amending its senior secured credit agreement to reduce the interest rate on its term loan facilities due April 2022.

Everything else about the campaign can be on target, the offer, the station, the daypart, but if the commercials are not “right,” the campaign will under-perform and leave dollars on the table.
Bubba Back On in Tampa
Bubba The Love Sponge will be back on the air in his home market as of February 13. His new station is 50,000 watt news-talker WWBA-AM (820), owned by Genesis Communications. Bubba was dropped by Beasley in Tampa back in December. He's been involved in a ratings tampering case with Nielsen since late 2015.
BMI Founders Award Extends Deadline
The deadline for the BMI Founders Award for Radio Broadcasting scholarship competition has been extended through April 1st, 2017. The second annual program will award up to $5,000 for the best original essay response entry.
The Media Incubator is Back
Multicultural Media, Telecom and Internet Council co-founder David Honig called it big news when we spoke to him by phone Tuesday as the 8th annual MMTC Broadband and Social Justice Summit concluded. Honig said all three FCC Commissioners in attendance; Chairman Pai and Commissioner's Clyburn and O'Rielly agreed to move forward on the Media Incubator.
Study: Digital Revenue Surging In Small Markets
The total is still a relatively small number when compared to radio's $14.7 billion in annual ad revenue, however the good news is digital revenue for radio is still growing, big-time. And it appears small-market broadcasters are really starting to kick it into gear.
