Another College Station Sold
We are seeing it more and more...colleges no longer interested in subsidizing campus radio stations are selling them off. On Tuesday Northern Kentucky University approved a plan to sell WNKU-FM to Bible Broadcast Corp. for $1.9 million. The college was spending about $1 million every year to keep the station going.
Entercom Syndicates Overnight Paranormal Show
The show is called Beyond Reality, a two-hour talk show about the paranormal. Westwood One is partnering with Entercom to syndicate the show starting March 6. It's already airing on 16 Entercom stations. Premiere has pretty much owned that timeslot with Coast-to-Coast AM with George Noory and before that Art Bell.

Four More Signatures For The NAB
Two House Reps and two Senators have joined as cosponsors of a resolution against "any new performance fee, tax, royalty, or other charge" on radio that the NAB is pushing on Capitol Hill. The Local Radio Freedom Act now has 129 cosponsors in the House and 12 in the Senate.

Details of a new Nielsen study, commissioned by Westwood One, were released Monday. The focus was listeners who were exposed to a "major motorcycle" brand that ran ads during Westwood One's coverage of the NFL and NCAA basketball. And Pierre Bouvard says the results were outstanding for radio.
