Miller Kaplan Sends Feder A Cease and Desist Letter
Chicago media writer Robert Feder took to his blog Tuesday to tell readers he will no longer be publishing Chicago radio station revenue numbers. And he's blaming it on a market manager who he says complained to the accounting firm that Feder was publishing his declining numbers.

Marlins to Remain on iHeart Station
Baseball's Miami Marlins and iHeartMedia have signed a multi-year extension that will keep WINZ-AM in Miami the exclusive radio station for all 162 regular season games and 15 spring training games. The Marlins and iHeartMedia have been broadcast partners since 2013.
Country Radio Seminar’s $99 Unemployment Rate
The unemployment rate is now available for CRS 2017, which will be held Feb. 22-Feb. 24 in Nashville, Tenn. at the Omni Hotel. The special rate will provide access to more than 30 on-site educational panels and round-table discussions, as well as CRS sanctioned after-hours events. The rate does not include access into the already sold-out New Faces show.

Ajit Pai is the new Chairman of the Federal Communications Commission. The White House made it official on Monday. Pai said he was deeply grateful to the President of the United States for designating him the 34th Chairman of the FCC.
Another Extension For iHeart Bond Investors
On the heels of the extension that was set to expire Monday, iHeart extended the deadline again, this time until February 3, for bondholders to exchange 2018 senior-note debt for new debt maturing in 2021.
Even More Ad Dollars Heading To Mobile
According to a new report released by BIA/Kelsey, U.S. mobile ad spending will grow from $33 billion in 2016 to $72 billion by 2021, a 17 percent compound annual growth rate. The location-targeted portion of that overall mobile ad spend is projected to grow from $12.4 billion in 2016 to $32.4 billion in 2021.
Weekly Chart Leaders Remain The Same
The Home Depot remained on top of the weekly Media Monitors chart airing just over 57,000 commercials on radio stations all over the country last week. GEICO held on to the second spot by running 48,114 spots.
A New Generation Of Radio Consumers
The U.S. Census Bureau confirms it: Millennials are now the nation’s largest generation, and nowhere is that more obvious than among the nation’s Hispanic population. Nearly six in 10 U.S. Hispanics are millennial-age or younger. That population is also growing the fastest, as one out of every four babies born in the United States today is of Hispanic descent.
iHeartMedia Brings Capitals To FM Dial
iHeartMedia Washington, DC’s 104.7 FM, is bringing the NHL's Washington Capitals to the FM dial. The station will air every Capitals game for the remainder of the NHL season. Caps games were being heard on Hubbard's Federal News Radio in DC and some games will still be heard there.
