Asleep At The Wheel To Perform At Marconi’s
The multi-Grammy Award-winning country band will perform at the NAB Marconi Radio Awards Dinner & Show, on Thursday, September 7. Northern Kentucky University Sells FM
Grant County Broadcasters, owners of WNKR-FM in Northern Kentucky, is purchasing WNKN-FM, in Ohio, from Northern Kentucky University. WNKR CEO Jeff Ziesmann said, “Our company is pleased to maintain this heritage station as locally owned and operated. Our goal is to provide stable, high-quality, locally produced programming to the greatest number of listeners in the WNKN coverage area.
A Proposed Fix To The Pre-1972 Problem

Radio Freedom Act Tops 200
The push gets stronger as another seven Members of the House of Representatives have joined as cosponsors of a resolution that opposes "any new performance fee, tax, royalty, or other charge" on local broadcast radio stations. The Local Radio Freedom Act now has 206 cosponsors in the House and 23 in the Senate.

CBS Radio in Pittsburgh has unveiled “KDKA Traffic & Weather Together.” This new HD station, heard on 107.9 HD3, will provide up-to-the-minute traffic and weather information Pittsburgh listeners.
WTMJ Milwaukee To Hit FM Via Translator
Scripps-owned WTMJ-AM will be adding an FM translator to help expand the coverage of the powerful news station. When the translator is approved this fall, the station will be heard on 103.3 in the FM band.
