Pai Rounds Up A Few More Pirates
Keeping to his word to crack down on pirate radio stations, FCC Chairman Ajit Pai's enforcement team was is it again, this time notifying four pirates in Florida and one in Queens to shut down their illegal operations. Everyone in the latest notice has 10 days to respond to the Commission about what they were doing running radio stations without a license. Here are the details.
Are Echo Users Listening To Radio?
According to NuVoodoo's latest Ratings Prospects Study the answer is yes. The company surveyed nearly 3,000 people (ages 14-54) across all PPM markets. Of the 15.5% of the people who own one or more Amazon Echo or Echo Dot, 46% say they are listening to AM/FM radio through their devices.
Caps Return To CBS Radio
CBS' WJFK-FM "The Fan" and WFED-AM in Washington, DC have won the right to broadcast the NHL team's games. Capitals play-by-play announcer John Walton will return for his seventh season and former Capital Ken Sabourin enters his 15th season as analyst. Last year Caps games were heard on Hubbard's WFED-AM. They were on The Fan for years before last year.

Jason Aldean Cancels Weekend Concerts
Country star Jason Aldean was onstage in Las Vegas when the bullets started raining down on the audience. On Tuesday Aldean posted a message on Facebook announcing he would be canceling four concerts planned for this weekend in California as a result of what happened.
