Westwood News Announces Big Renewals and New Affiliates
In all, Westwood One News can be heard on 830 radio stations across the country. The network says it has signed renewals with WINS-AM in New York, KYW-AM in Philadelphia, WBZ-AM in Boston and WWJ-AM/Detroit. In addition, 70 new stations have been added.
KYW-AM Gifts Laptops To Philly Elementary Students
Entercom’s KYW-AM Newsradio 1060/Philadelphia joined with Comcast to deliver 10 new Dell Latitude Education Series laptops to General Philip Kearny Elementary School.

Marc Rayfield has been in radio since 1990, more than half his life. His first job as a manager was as the Local Sales Manager for WIP in Philadelphia shortly after it launched as the second sports radio station in America (behind WFAN in New York). Cumulus Delisted From NASDAQ
More bad news for Cumulus. On Tuesday, the company received notification from the NASDAQ indicating that, as a result of the company’s noncompliance with NASDAQ listing rules, the company has been delisted and will no longer trade on that exchange, effective immediately.
Here Is The Entercom Mission Statement
In a company-wide call, Tuesday, Entercom CEO David Field and COO Weezie Kramer pumped up the troops of the much larger company now that former CBS employees are on the Entercom team. Kramer asked Field questions that were submitted by employees.
Entercom Extends With Eagles
You could say two winning teams have decided they want to stay together. Entercom, off the high of merging with CBS Radio, and the 9-and-1 Philadelphia Eagles have signed an extension that will keep Sportsradio WIP as the home station for the team through 2024.
iHeart Flips To Alt In Detroit
The Alternative Rock format has been getting a lot of love lately. Last week, Entercom flipped to Alt Rock in New York City and Dallas, and Tuesday iHeartmedia flips to the format in Detroit. The previous format was Variety Hits. iHeart kicks off the new format with 10,000 songs in a row.
CMG Jacksonville Flips Two Frequencies
Cox Media Group Jacksonville has switched WEZI Easy 106.5 to 102.9 FM, and WXXJ X102.9 over to 106.5 FM. In addition to Easy 102.9’s move, it has flipped to Holiday Music. This change gives Easy 102.9 a larger signal. The station can now be heard from Brunswick, GA to southern St. John’s County, FL. The format on 106.5 is Alternative.
