Alpha Louisville Raises $130K For Kids’ Hospital
Alpha Media Louisville hosted a two-day radiothon in support of Norton Children’s Hospital, November 16 and 17. Louisville stations WXMA, WDJX, WGZB, WMJM, and WGHL, raised $131,586 and shared heartfelt stories of patients and families impacted by the hospital.
Turkeys For Troops In San Antonio
iHeartMedia San Antonio recently partnered with local car dealership Toyota of Boerne and Walmart for the seventh annual Turkeys for Troops drive. iHeart employees and volunteers handed out turkeys to over 7,000 local military personnel and their families.

Entercom Takes New York
On the heels of the merger with CBS Radio, the Entercom management team, along with founder Joe Field, rang the closing bell at the New York Stock Exchange yesterday. Upstate NY Stations Going To Auction
They've been losing money for years and now with an owner nobody can find, and bills left unpaid, five Sarnac Lake radio stations will be auctioned off in two weeks. The Saranac Lake Radio Company, which celebrated 90 years in September, and was the voice of the community, is a shell of the radio company it once was and is hardly broadcasting today.
New York Is Ready To Party
It's an annual tradition...34 years and counting for the New York Market Radio Association's holiday party. This year it will be held on Friday, December 1, at the Rock & Reilly’s Rooftop Lounge in the Renaissance Hotel in New York City. At the event, radio managers and account executives have the opportunity to mingle with local and national media buyers.
What Are The Top Testing Christmas Songs?
With all the format flips to Christmas music taking place, Radio Ink would like to thank Ken Benson and the P1 Media Group for sharing their list of the top-tested Christmas songs of 2017. Ken tells us that seven of the top 10 Christmas songs were released between 1945 and 1963.
Lite FM New York Makes The Flip
iHeartMedia's 106.7 LITE FM is now celebrating the holidays. The Bob and Christine Morning Show, along with Rich Kaminski and the Radio City Rockettes, flipped the Christmas music switch marking the beginning of the Christmas season in New York City. The station will play Christmas music through Christmas Day.
Beasley Flips In Jersey
Beasley's Magic 98.3 in Somerset, New Jersey is now playing holiday tunes. PD Debbie Mazella said, "We are all very happy to continue the annual tradition of becoming Jersey's Christmas Station and play non-stop holiday music to add to the excitement of the season." When the station is not playing Christmas tunes the format is "Today’s Hits &Yesterday’s Favorites."
Amazon Enters The Radio Fight
With the holidays right around the corner, Amazon.com is using radio heavily as it continues to try to take shoppers away from brick-and-mortar retailers. Amazon aired 30,811 commercials on radio stations across the country last week, according to Media Monitors.
