This may be nothing more than a negotiating ploy by The Writers Guild of America on behalf of workers at 1010 WINS and WCBS-FM. House Passes Pirate Act – Again

Reduced viewership combined with flat unit rates resulted in soaring TV costs-per-point. This made radio a cheaper alternative.
