Broadcast Dialogue reports that 500 stations will soon be available on one app for listeners in Canada. UK-based Radioplayer is teaming up with 15 companies in Canada to launch the free app, which will be launched later this year.

Last week, we reported that ESPN continues have record setting download months from its 40-plus shows. On Monday, the sports network released more details, including the specific shows consumers were downloading the most. Many were original programs, not rebroadcasts of other shows.

Podcasts are becoming so popular, there's a show going national that helps listeners find new podcasts. Starting October 6, NPR will begin distribution of WAMU-FM's The Big Listen. Hosted by Lauren Ober (pictured), The Big Listen introduces listeners to new podcasts they might have never heard of.
