VOLUME -- a new 24/7 music talk channel on SiriusXM -- will feature a mix of live daily shows, music news, weekly specialty shows, in-depth documentaries, special performances, a music trivia- game show, and more. The launch is set for October 17 at 7 a.m.

The name of the new podcast is Tagline. It will air twice a month. The goal of Tagline is to give listeners an insider’s perspective on what the world that influences pop culture is about.

TechCrunch reports music sales are estimated at nearly $3 billion per year in Japan which makes it the world’s second largest market. And streamers like Spotify want in on that.

Broadcast Dialogue reports that 500 stations will soon be available on one app for listeners in Canada. UK-based Radioplayer is teaming up with 15 companies in Canada to launch the free app, which will be launched later this year.

Last week, we reported that ESPN continues have record setting download months from its 40-plus shows. On Monday, the sports network released more details, including the specific shows consumers were downloading the most. Many were original programs, not rebroadcasts of other shows.

Nick Bartle joins Pandora as Chief Marketing Officer. Bartle comes to Pandora from LinkedIn, where he served as Vice President of Member Marketing and Communications for the last year.

Rock’n Robin Productions and ABC Radio are releasing the first-ever podcast by Robin Roberts. It's called Robin Roberts: Everybody's Got Something, based on her best-selling book of the same name.

AdLarge Media has signed an agreement with Media Management Group to rep the Tackling Life podcast, hosted by NFL Hall of Famer Ray Lewis and emotional management expert Dr. Christian Conte.

Veteran executives Erin Callaghan, Jamie Moffat, Curtis Qualls, and Tina Segerstrom have joined the sales division of tech company Futuri Media. All will hold the title of Account Manager.

Podcasts are becoming so popular, there's a show going national that helps listeners find new podcasts. Starting October 6, NPR will begin distribution of WAMU-FM's The Big Listen. Hosted by Lauren Ober (pictured), The Big Listen introduces listeners to new podcasts they might have never heard of.
