Longtime WJR-AM Detroit host Frank Beckmann died Saturday night, according to The Detroit News. The 72-year old had vascular dementia and, late last week, doctors had given him only days to live. Beckmann worked at WJR for 48 years until his retirement last March.

So sad.
Over the illustrious history of 760 WJR, Frank Beckmann was second only to J.P. McCarthy in his legedary status at the 50,000-watt blowtorch.
Prayers for Frank and his family, and thanks for decades of memories.
Update: Rest in peace, Frank. You are among the best in our business…
