Buddy Shula has another flip in store for his Niagara Falls AM signal. After launching conservative talk on the Fourth of July last year, the Radio One Buffalo owner is moving to country, betting on hits he says listeners cannot find anywhere else in the market.
US Country (WUSW), branded Buffalo’s Country Favorites, is replacing The Patriot, the conservative talk format Radio One Buffalo, LLC launched on the Fourth of July in 2025. The Country station serves Buffalo, Western New York, and Southern Ontario, with a focus on what the company calls an open lane for Country music from the 1980s, 1990s, and early 2000s.
The on-air lineup includes Shula, Wendy Lynn, Greg Ireland, and Aaron James. Liz Mantel joins US Country mornings in December. Country programmer Ken Johnson has joined the team as a special advisor.
Radio One Buffalo acquired the Niagara Falls AM signal from Cumulus Media, which had aired conservative talk on it since 2021.
Shula said, “US Country is built around a clear promise: great country music and a station that feels connected to the people who listen. We’re bringing Buffalo country artists and songs that they have been craving, and that you can’t find anywhere else on the radio, locally.”
