The Nevada Broadcasters Foundation awarded 21 tuition scholarships for the 2026-2027 academic year through its Tony and Linda Bonnici Scholarship Fund, an investment of more than $196,400. The recipients include 13 returning scholars and eight new students.

The fund covers the full cost per credit, up to 15 credits per semester, for eligible students attending any Nevada college or university, rather than a fixed dollar amount. Since it launched, the Foundation has awarded 343 scholarships to students preparing for careers in broadcasting, journalism, digital media, communications, and related industries.

Scholarship recipients also receive mentorship, internship opportunities, professional networking, and connections to Nevada’s broadcasting industry.

The fund is supported by Nevada’s broadcasting community, corporate sponsors, and individual donors. Money is raised through the Foundation’s Northern and Southern Nevada golf tournaments and the silent and live auctions at the annual Nevada Broadcasters Hall of Fame Celebration.

Nevada Broadcasters Association and Foundation Vice President and Executive Director Eric Bonnici said, “There’s no greater feeling than seeing the look on a student’s face when they hear those life-changing words, ‘You’ve been awarded a scholarship.’ In that moment, you see the excitement, the relief, and the realization that someone believes in their potential. It puts into perspective why we do what we do. We’re not simply awarding scholarships; we’re investing in dreams, opening doors, and helping shape the next generation of professionals who will inform, educate, and inspire our communities.”
