iHeartMedia is putting Alissa Pollack in charge of both its chart data business and major label marketing. Pollack has been promoted to President of Mediabase at RCS Worldwide, while continuing to serve as President of Global Music Marketing.
As President, Pollack will oversee Mediabase’s strategic direction, global expansion, product innovation, and commercial growth, with the company’s stated goal to expand the platform beyond its airplay charts into a broader music intelligence platform serving the global music industry.
Pollack began her radio career as a producer at New York’s Z100 before moving through the iHeartMedia ranks, including a stint as Program Director of KIIS-FM in Los Angeles. She has now spent 24 years with the company.
In 2016, iHeartMedia named Pollack Executive Vice President of Global Music Marketing. She has also overseen Mediabase and its sister platforms, including M-Score, RateTheMusic, and BuzzAngle Music. Her work has centered on data and analytics, multi-platform marketing, and artist-brand partnerships.
Pollack serves on the boards of MusiCares and Musicians on Call and chairs the Music and Entertainment Committee for City of Hope. She created the Taste of Hope fundraiser and the Jason Pollack Bedside Performance Program.
RCS Worldwide President and CEO Susan Larkin said, “Alissa has spent her career at the intersection of music, data, and relationships, which is exactly where Mediabase lives. This promotion is a recognition of everything she has already built and a reflection of our confidence in where she will take Mediabase next. As she steps into this role, she will have my full support as she leads Mediabase forward.”
Pollack said, “I’m honored to lead Mediabase at such an exciting moment in its evolution while continuing the work I love at iHeartMedia. These roles are incredibly complementary because they share the same purpose: helping the industry make smarter decisions through meaningful insights. Mediabase has earned its reputation as the gold standard in music data, and I see an incredible opportunity to build on that legacy by expanding our global reach and delivering intelligence that helps our partners not just discover what’s happening now but shapes what happens next.”
