Markets don’t take weekends off, and now neither does Red Apple Media’s Worldwide News Network’s business coverage. WWNN Weekend Business Reports debuted on Hubbard – Media That Connects’s WTOP in Washington as the service’s first affiliate partner.
The series aims to go beyond routine market updates to focus on the industries and economic sectors shaping the headlines.
Financial journalists John Terrett and Jake Novak anchor and produce the reports. Terrett brings extensive international radio and television experience to WWNN, having served as New York correspondent for outlets including the BBC and CNBC. He spent nearly eight years reporting from the floor of the New York Stock Exchange, offering a firsthand view of the markets, the economy, and the companies moving them. In January, Terrett began anchoring Red Apple’s twice-daily AM/PM Market Reports.
Novak brings more than 25 years of broadcast experience and a strategic lens to global markets and the economic and geopolitical forces shaping them. His analysis is built to challenge conventional thinking and cut through noise with clear, fact-driven insight, whether the topic is an economic shift, a market trend, a corporate development, or a geopolitical flashpoint.
WTOP Director of News and Programming Julia Ziegler said, “Our listeners want and need insightful financial and business news they can trust, and they depend on us to deliver it every day of the week. As the industry has contracted over the last few years, it has left a void. It is exciting to work with a company like WWNN that understands the importance of providing quality reporting seven days of the week.”
Worldwide News Network Senior Vice President of News and Programming Lee Harris added, “WWNN is not simply filling the gap left by the demise of the CBS Radio Network. We’re building something stronger and more relevant for today’s audience. John and Jake bring extraordinary experience and credibility, and more importantly, they know how to make complicated financial and economic stories understandable, compelling, and actionable. That’s what makes these reports different.”
